Welcome to the world live premiere of Lu Yang:Delusional World on November 11, 2020. The multi-disciplinary artist Lu Yang will bring you to a dizzying virtual world of neon dreamscape lurking in our networks. Exploring digital voyeurism and online cultures, Lu Yang Hell summons audiences to encounter a frenetic collision of Chinese mythology, sci-fi futures and live performance.
This free mind-bending, hyper-pop performance features a contemporary dancer fitted with motion capture technology, who projects fantastical digital avatars of the artist that materialise as deranged deities, Manga-inspired mutants and cyborgs. Live performed at Chronus Art Centre, this experimental performance will present a darkly humorous virtual world where the audience and artist interact through a live chat.
Delusional World is commissioned by ACMI, Arts Centre Melbourne, Asia TOPA and Exhibitionist, in collaboration with curator Mathew Spisbah, Chronus Art Centre and Meta Objects. It is presented as part of Asia TOPA 2020.
On November 13th, CAC will present Lu Yang Hell, a live performance of Delusional World. Lu Yang Hell is a special event organized by Chronus Art Center, with the support from M50 Shanghai Contemporary Art Week and Shijiazhuang International Trade City.
