Max/MSP is a visual programing language for creative audio and media practices. Its connectivity and adaptability allow the software to be widely applied to creative recording, media performance and art installation. The versatile and agile program allows users to connect several building-blocks that will act as a unified program and provides a development environment for creative experiments.

Since its creation in the 1990s, Max/MSP has evolved into a sophisticated development environment for multimedia creation, in which Max processes logic and algorithms while MSP controls the audio signal frequency. Another sub-environment named Jitter focuses on video production. In the workshop, HAN Han will introduce these three programs and share his experience using Max/MSP/Jitter for audio-visual performance since 2010. The workshop offers attendees an entrée to the world of personalized audio-visual programming.
